Mezzo is a vinyl line built for Sacramento's triple-digit summers and cool winters. Each feature below addresses a specific problem with older windows:
Color that holds, because the frame resists UV fading
Frames that tolerate high heat and extreme cold
Surfaces that resist dirt, chemicals and pollutants
Resistance to salt-air damage, which matters for our Bay Area customers near the coast more than for inland Sacramento homes
A Lifetime Warranty (terms are in the warranty section below)
Vinyl replacement windows in Sacramento run $500 to $600 per window installed. Composite, fiberglass and wood cost more because they use costlier materials. Composite runs $550 to $1,900 per window, fiberglass $900 to $2,000 or more, and wood $800 to $3,000 or more. Wood-clad windows add 10% to 15% over plain wood and cost more than all-vinyl, since you pay for two materials in one frame.
Vinyl is also a strong insulator. With low-E glass, Mezzo reaches a whole-window U-factor as low as 0.27 (lower means better insulation), while thermally broken aluminum usually rates higher with comparable glass. That makes vinyl the cheapest option and one that insulates as well as or better than thermally broken aluminum. Choose a pricier material only when you want a wood interior or a specific frame profile. Your own total depends on opening count and sizes, so we give you a detailed fixed-price proposal after measuring.
Mezzo uses a narrowline frame, which gives you more glass and daylight per opening. The glass is double pane and insulated, and the line is designed to meet Energy Star requirements. Your window's exact rating is on its NFRC label.
Mezzo's whole-window U-factor ranges from about 0.27 to 0.46, and its solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) from about 0.21 to 0.58, depending on the glass package. For Sacramento heat, ask for the low-E option with the lowest SHGC, because it blocks solar heat instead of passing it into the room.
Mezzo is an Alside vinyl line, while Milgard sells its own vinyl and fiberglass lines under different names, so a "Milgard Mezzo" does not exist. Andersen's 100 Series uses Fibrex composite material, and because we are an Andersen Certified Contractor, we install both and can quote them side by side.
Compare the three on installed price, NFRC rating and warranty transferability, not brand. Against composite, vinyl costs less per window at the prices in the Alside Mezzo Windows section, although Milgard's fiberglass lines cost more than vinyl and suit owners who want a stiffer frame.
We handle design, measuring, installation and cleanup with one accountable team under one dedicated project manager. That person schedules the crew, answers your calls and checks quality at each stage, so you deal with one contact instead of coordinating trades.
Mezzo's trademarked parts address specific failure points:
EdgeForce low-profile frame: gives structural stability in a slim profile.
Forecaster: directs water away from the window, which keeps the glass cleaner and cuts maintenance.
HP3 telescoping sill dam: guards against air and water infiltration at the sill.
Enhanced hardware and screening: keeps insects out and makes forced entry harder.
Mezzo comes in double-hung, single-hung, sliding, picture and special-shape, casement and awning styles. It comes in six exterior colors (White, Almond, Desert Clay, Black, Architectural Bronze and Silver), and the Black, Bronze and Silver exteriors pair with a White or Almond interior.
We show samples in our Rocklin showroom and can bring them to your house. Send a photo of your home's exterior and we will suggest a style and color before you commit.
We measure every opening during the free in-home consultation.
You receive a detailed fixed-price proposal with the full scope and a firm total, which is what you approve before we order anything.
Once the quote is approved, we order your windows and schedule the crew. Lead time is 8 to 10 weeks (10 to 12 weeks for custom products), excluding delivery time.
We remove the old windows, set and seal the new ones, and install trim.
We clean the site and walk the finished job with you.
Installation time depends on window count, so a typical whole-house job takes two to five days.
California's Title 24 energy code sets maximum U-factor and SHGC limits for replacement windows, and the limit depends on climate zone. Sacramento falls in Climate Zone 12, where the 2025 standard (in effect since January 1, 2026) sets a maximum U-factor of 0.27 and a maximum SHGC of 0.23 for replacement windows; replacing 75 square feet of windows or less allows 0.40 and 0.35. Because windows with an NFRC label let the building department check compliance, ask for that label.
Permit requirements vary by jurisdiction. When a permit is required, we handle the process through the City of Sacramento or Sacramento County. Unpermitted work can be flagged at inspection or when you sell. The usual outcome is correction, extra fees and re-inspection, and Sacramento County can issue a Notice of Violation or an Order to Stop Work, a lien against the property if compliance is not shown, and possible legal action by County Counsel or the District Attorney.
The Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing defects, but covered parts, glass terms and installation conditions differ by product. The warranty can be transferred once to the next owner within ten years of installation, and the new owner gets the rest of that ten-year period. Ask us for the current warranty document for your product. Improper installation can put manufacturer coverage at risk, which is why a certified installer matters.
